1. Overview

SummarizeMe offers both monthly subscription plans and one-time credit top-up packs. This Refund Policy explains the conditions under which refunds are available for each purchase type. All payments are processed by LemonSqueezy as our Merchant of Record.

2. Credit Consumption

Credits are consumed when a video processing job is submitted and executed by our system. A credit is considered used once AI processing begins, regardless of whether you are satisfied with the output quality.

Credit cost formula: ceil(video duration in minutes / 10), minimum 1 credit per job.

3. Subscription Plans — Billing & Cancellation

Subscription plans are billed monthly and renew automatically. The following terms apply:

  • No refund for the current billing period: Once a subscription payment has been charged, it is non-refundable. You retain full access to your plan until the end of the paid period.
  • Cancellation takes effect at period end: When you cancel, your subscription stops renewing at the end of the current billing cycle. You will not be charged again, and your credits and access remain active until that date.
  • Monthly credits do not roll over: Credits allocated for a billing cycle expire at the end of that cycle and are not refundable if unused.
  • No prorated refunds: We do not offer prorated refunds for unused days within a billing period.

4. Subscription — 7-Day Grace Period for New Subscribers

If you are subscribing to SummarizeMe for the first time and have not consumed any of your monthly credits, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your initial subscription payment.

To request a grace period refund:

  • Email [email protected] with subject: "Subscription Refund Request — [your email]"
  • Include your account email and the date of purchase
  • Your subscription will be cancelled and a full refund issued within 5–7 business days

This grace period applies to first-time subscribers only. It does not apply to renewals, plan switches, or accounts that have previously held a subscription.

6. Credit Top-Up Packs — Refund Policy

Top-up packs are one-time purchases available to active subscribers. If you purchased a top-up pack and have not used any credits from that purchase, you may request a full refund within 7 days of the purchase date.

To request a refund for an unused top-up pack:

  • Email [email protected] with subject: "Top-Up Refund Request — [your email]"
  • Include your account email and the date of purchase
  • We will process your refund within 5–7 business days via the original payment method

After 7 days, or if any credits from the top-up have been used, the purchase is no longer eligible for a refund.

8. No Refund — Consumed Credits

We do not offer refunds for credits that have been consumed by a completed or partially completed processing job. This applies even if:

  • You are not satisfied with the quality of the summary or transcript
  • The output contains errors or inaccuracies (AI-generated content is not guaranteed to be perfect)
  • You did not download or use the output after it was generated
  • You changed your mind after the job was processed

9. Automatic Credit Restoration

Credits will be automatically restored to your account in the following situations:

  • The job failed due to a technical error on our end
  • The video could not be retrieved due to third-party platform restrictions (e.g. the video was private, deleted, geo-blocked, or the platform blocked access)
  • The job was stuck in processing for more than 24 hours with no result

Credit restoration is automatic. If it does not happen within 24 hours of a failed job, contact us at [email protected].

10. Partial Refunds

We do not offer partial refunds for partially used credit packs or subscription periods. Credits from different purchase types (subscription allocation vs. top-up) are tracked separately in your account.

11. Fraudulent or Duplicate Charges

If you believe you were charged in error, charged twice, or experienced an unauthorized charge, contact us immediately at [email protected]. We will investigate and resolve the issue promptly, typically within 2 business days.

12. Payment Processor

Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. Refunds will be returned to the original payment method used at checkout. Processing time may vary depending on your bank or card provider (typically 5–10 business days after we initiate the refund).

13. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We will notify existing subscribers of material changes by email.
